A Super Late Thanksgiving Post

I have no idea how it's almost February. How did that happen?

Last year, I was in my first trimester during Thanksgiving and it totally sucked! Talk about torture. I was in front of all this amazing food (my favorite food mind you) and I had like 5 bites before I ran to the bathroom to throw it all up. On the flip side, I actually lost weight during that first trimester...during the holidays, so I guess it's a successful diet plan.

Well, this year was much better! Mainly because I wasn't sick to my stomach and we had all our family together. My aunts, uncles, brother, sister, parents, hubby and son were all under one roof. It was a little chaotic, but definitely worth it. Oh, and Jack LOVED all the extra cuddles and attention. Plus the food was phenomenal!!

So, here are some pictures of Thanksgiving 2012...

And a big thanks to my Aunt Jeanne for sending me her pictures of Jack-a-Rooney!

Things I Love...Again

I have this revolving list in my head of all the little things that I love about my Little Man.
There are just so many details I want to remember and cherish while I can, so in other words, there will be many of these lists in the future.

I love his little monkey toes. I swear those little piggies can grip everything.
I love his adorable belly (which gets a lot of kisses and tickles).
I love how he lifts his legs straight in the air and his hands hold his tummy when waiting for his diaper change.
I love how his little hands grip my finger when he starts to get sleepy.
I love how he reaches out for my face and pulls me in to kiss his forehead.
I love it when he gets Stranger Danger and buries his head into my shoulder and holds tights.
I love how he chomps down on his rubber spoon when eating, like he is attacking his food.
I love how similar he is to Mike, in action and looks.
I love watching how his mind works and how he loves to figure out how everything works.
I love the little jig he does while on his hands and knees.
And most of all, I love his mischievous smile and the pure joy that comes through.

2013

I can't believe it is 2013 already...but I can believe that I'm late again in posting. Ha! Don't think that will change in the new year unfortunately, but we can hope.

I feel that 2012 gave us one sucker punch after another in certain areas and in one very important area, it was the best year of our lives. I've loved my first year as a mommy and I can't help but feel so blessed to have such an amazing, joyous son and such a supportive, sweet husband.

Moving on... for Christmas this year, we ventured down to Palm Springs to get a little R&R (and some sunshine). It was so peaceful and definitely hit the spot. Adam and Marci met us there and we spent our days lounging at the pool (where we found out that Jack loves the water and can actually swim...it was unreal and a little unnerving for me to watch), playing games, watching movies and, my personal favorite, spending time at the spa. We even had time to go see the movie Les Mis, which was phenomenal.

After Palm Springs, Adam and Marci heading to Arizona to surprise her family and the rest of us went o Disneyland for a few days and then to the San Diego Zoo. Disneyland was a little stressful, chaotic but totally worth it. The zoo on the other hand was a flop since it started raining half way through our visit. After San Diego, we headed to Torrance to see family and friends...especially my dear friend, Jen's adorable, new daughter Paisley. Holding that tiny little 6 lbs baby made me realize we never got to have that "newborn" experience with Jack.

Overall it was a great trip with tons of memories, but it feels so good to sleep in our own bed. The only down side was that Mike, Jack and myself all started 2013 with horrible colds and fevers to boot. We had to take Jack to Urgent Care on New Years Day, but thankfully we are all healing quickly and getting back to normal.

Here are some random pictures of our trip...

Seriously...it's his favorite toy.

I'm so excited to see what 2013 holds for our little family and I'm praying the year goes a little smoother than the last few days have gone! xoxo
